Division/Group Supervisor

S-339

Description:

This course prepares students to perform in the role of Division/Group Supervisor (DIVS). It provides instruction in support of the specific tasks of the Division/Group Supervisor, but will not instruct the student in general management/supervision or in the Incident Command System (ICS), both of which the student should learn through prerequisite work. Topics include division/group management, orgIntermediate Incident Command Systemanizational interaction, division operations, all-hazard operations, and tactical decision games (optional). The pre-course work consists of a professional reading assignment that can take from 4 to 8 hours to complete. There is a final examination in this course.

Prerequisites:

  • ICS I-300- Intermediate Incident Command System

  • S-290- Intermediate Wildland Fire Behavior

COST:

The class is sponsored by UASI and free of charge. UASI funds do not cover backfill, holdover, or overtime for students.Open to Orange County agencies only.

staffing:

No backfill, holdover, or overtime authorized.

DRESS CODE:

Station uniform or business casual. No sandals.
